Meet Ali.

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would be leading a growing dog walking team, having served hundreds of wonderful community members and neighbors in the charming city of Portland, Maine, I would have said, “yeah . . . right.” Tails & Trails has evolved from a simple passion, shaped by challenges, lessons, and a lot of perseverance, into a trusted neighborhood name.

I have been fortunate to call Maine my home since 2013. My journey here began when I fell for my partner, a Portland native. It didn’t take long for me to leave the Philly suburbs and make Maine my new home. I was captivated by both the stunning local scenery and the warmth of the people. Initially, I had plans to pursue an MSW and engage with the local communities, but when those plans fell through, I turned to what had always been a source of comfort—dogs. I wasn't anticipating the immense pleasure, joy, and gratification that fueled my motivation for years. When I decided to continue this journey, I committed to fully investing in myself (and my learning), the team, and the processes and procedures needed to create a truly excellent service.

I’m proud to say we’re excited to welcome many more families into our Tails & Trails family in 2025. Thanks to our collaborative and team-based approach and the systems and processes in place to support us, we consistently provide an exceptional experience for both our dogs and their families.

I’m truly honored and humbled to be trusted by so many families in the community. To say I’m proud of our team and excited for what’s to come would be an understatement. I look forward to continuing to support our local families, and have big aspirations to give back to both the local and regional animal communities in desperate need of our help.

I can’t wait to meet you!

I take great pride in providing families a worry-free service

Our Team!

Meet Meg!

Meg has been living in Maine for the last 15 years. She loves the awesome art community and the proximity of so much incredible wilderness. She is a proud dog auntie to all her pals furry friends and loves to meet up for beach walks with 2 legged and four legged buddies alike. While not currently a Dog mom, Meg is happiest with a dog by her side, so working with Tails and Trails has been a wonderful fit. When she’s not out on dog walks, she can be found in working in her ceramic studio studio near pine point beach.

Meet Eve!

Eve is so excited to be working with Tails and Trails! In her previous positions, she has worked as a gardener and farm caretaker of both plants and animals, and values each unique relationship she forms through these interactions. Eve studied at the University of Maine at Orono and graduated with her BS in Environmental Horticulture, and has since come to love the culture and natural beauty of the state. Along with her dog Lola, Eve enjoys spending her free time gardening, mountain, biking, and hiking.

Meet Elizabeth!

A Maine native, Elizabeth has been in the dog daycare and boarding industry for 9 years and is excited to branch out to dog walking! Her interest in dog behavior and how dogs learn led her to receive a certificate of completion of the Dog Trainer Foundations course through the Karen Pryor Academy. Elizabeth considers the mind, body, and soul of each dog she cares for and practices science-based positive reinforcement methods. In her free time, you can find Elizabeth walking her retired racing greyhound, listening to podcasts, and attempting to be a good plant mom.
